Christmas Cracker Candy

Super easy, quick to put together and lots of fun for anyone. Christmas Cracker Candy is a classic treat that’s perfect for making in large batches to share with coworkers, friends and family.

Ingredients


  • 340g

    SCS Unsalted Butter

  • 45

    Salted plain crackers or saltines

  • 340g

    Dark brown sugar (packed)

  • 1/4 teaspoon

    Salt

  • 340g

    Chopped chocolate or chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup

    Decorative sprinkles or toppings of choice

Directions


  1. Preheat oven to 204°C. Line your pan with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
  2. Line the bottom of your pan with crackers in an even layer. Set aside.
  3. To make caramel, place brown sugar, SCS Unsalted Butter, and salt into a sauce pan on medium-high heat. Stir until the butter is melted.
  4. Cook until the mixture reaches 138°C on thermometer. Stir regularly to keep the butter from separating from the sugar. Remove from heat.
  5. Pour caramel over crackers and spread evenly with a spatula. Place into the oven for 3-5 minutes or until they start to bubble again. Then, remove from the oven.
  6. Spread chocolate evenly over the hot cracker toffee. Place them back in the oven for 1 min or let sit for 5 mins to melt. Slowly spread chocolate evenly over the toffee with a spatula.
  7. Add sprinkles or toppings of choice over the chocolate. Cool and let set in the freezer for 20 mins, or overnight at room temperature.
  8. When ready, lift from the pan and break into desired pieces.
